Dress season is finally here! It was 70+ degrees today, which put a big smile on my face. I am such a fan of warm weather, and considering how ridiculous the last few weeks of winter (and the first week of spring!) were around here, we really needed the change in temperature. People are finally a little happier. And wearing this dress today made me a little happier as well!

Now, here’s the thing. I have had this dress for almost three years, and this is only the second time that I’ve worn it. o_O I love the colors and the patterns, and it just seemed perfect for today’s activities. Not shown: Steve Madden Karro Pumps.

I went on a mini-rant a few days ago about not being able to readily find clothing made for those of us with curvy shapes. This dress is good for curves, but it could also be better. You can’t see it well in this photo, but the dress kind of “wrinkles,” for lack of a better term, right around where my waist is, because there’s nothing in that spot for the dress to hold on to. You can see the area better in this pic:

This isn’t a dress that I would necessarily wear with a belt, because I wouldn’t want to disrupt the pattern, so I wore it like this today. But when I got home, I thought, “I wonder what it would look like belted.” So I grabbed a thin belt and put it on just to see what the difference would be:

Hey look, I have a waist! :D I guess the whole point of this post is that sometimes you have to really play around with clothing to get the right look for your shape. And that goes for everyone. If you see something that could have potential, try it out! Accentuate the positives. Do what you need to do to show off your gorgeous shapes! :D

I hope that everyone has had a beautiful weekend!
